Disney Might Produce The Sequel Of Aladdin Live-Action Movie

The story of Princess Jasmine and Aladdin is likely to continue. The Walt Disney Company is reportedly working on a sequel to the live-action Aladdin film. Variety reports that Aladdin’s sequel is still in the early stages of development. And Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who were producers in the first film, will again become producers in the sequel to Aladdin. However, if you haven’t watched the first Aladdin movie yet, we suggest you watch it on viooz.

In addition to the producer, the position of the scriptwriter has also been filled by two authors. They are John Gatins who previously wrote the film Power Rangers (2017) and Andrea Berloff who previously wrote The Kitchen (2019).

Not yet known Guy Ritchie will return to being a director or not. Meanwhile, the producer hopes actors Will Smith, Mena Massoud, and Naomi Scott are back in the sequel to Aladdin.

Variety sources say the sequel to Aladdin will have a new story, not referring to the animated film The Return of Jafar (1994) and Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996).

If there really is a sequel to Aladdin, then Massoud’s conviction will come true. Previously, the actor who played Aladdin once said that the film adaptation has the opportunity to have a sequel.

Massoud stated that Jafar might not return, but the making of Aladdin’s sequel is possible.

Massoud’s statement supports the statement of producer Dan Lin in August 2019. At that time, he mentioned that there were many things in Aladdin’s story that could be told.

Lin stated that they want to make the best film so audiences will want more stories from the same franchise.

Lin also stated that audiences do really want more stories. They watched this film several times.”

Lin did not want to explain further about Aladdin’s sequel plans. This Taiwanese-born filmmaker only made sure that Disney was learning where the Aladdin franchise could be developed.

Based on Mojo’s Box Office data, Aladdin’s production costs were only US $ 183 million. However, the film directed by Guy Ritchie made a profit of US $ 1 billion.
